BQ25710: the function of IL_AVG

Hi team,

If the inductor average current exceed the IL_AVG set by the 0x32h register , what will the BQ25710 do ?

Will CHRG_OK be low and the charger shut down? I don't see details about the IL_AVG limit in the datasheet.

Hi Reagan,

In this case, the converter should still keep switching, but the inductor's average current will be clamped below the IL_AVG setting. The inductor average current clamp is a cycle-by-cycle current limit in case the input regulation loops such as IINDPM and VINDPM have not kicked in yet.
