From 220VAC to 12V-48VDC converter

Hi,

We are making a ac dc converter of 3.5KW. AC input is 220V. Actual output is either 12V or 24V or 48V. Only one is selected. Max current is 60A. This is battery charger. ZVS PSFB is suggeated. But output is limited.

We have looked at multiple options, but cannot find any till now. Please help as soon as possible.

Till than, we are looking for two phase buck converter with two device in parallel. Losses may be on higher side, but solution has highest priority.

why you are saying output is limited with PSFB. PSFB actually can support very high power application, 3.5kW is fine with ZVS PSFB.

For the spec, it is recommended to use PSFB with UCC28951.

Please suggest design with 12V, 24V, 48V output capability. i am looking at analog PSFB. (Digital control)

what is your request? 3.5kW? It is not limitation of 12V/24V/48V PSFB with UCC28951.

Hi Yunsheng,

Design parameters:

Input: 400V.

Output: 12V, 24V, 48V.(Output is configurable, but design has No multiple transformer or multiple FB stages)

Current output is 70A max.

I am not offline.

I think I have give you the suggested solution, since the output voltage range is 12V~48V, and output power is 3.5kW. PSFB based on UCC28951 is the best analog solution.

I sent multiple message on PM but no reply, so i thought you were offline.

By the way, Please suggest why you use transformer based gate drive? Can i use isolated gate driver IC?

What is the difference between these two? mainly in terms of MOSFET driving speed.

Regarding to the driver circuit of PSFB, both ways you mentioned are reasonable:

1. here is UCC28950EVM, the driver circuit is based on gate teansformer

2. here is UCC27714EVM based on PSFB with UCC28950, the driver circuit is based on isolator+high side low side driver.

3. Also there is isolator driver can be replace Isolator+ high side low side driver, like UCC21520
