I use LM5160 with below schematic. I use this output as comparator supply voltage. This comparator is switch with one input 2kHz pulse signal the other input constant DC signal. When 2kHz signal is triggered, LM5160 output 5VDC(comparator supply) is drop for a while(a few nanoseconds). But this supply voltage 5VDC is not drop in LM5160 output legs. This voltage is drop on comparator supply legs.

Could you give me an advise for stabiling the LM5160 in any usage location?

Hi Ozan,

Did you add any capacitor near to the comparator? The supply voltage 5VDC is not drop in LM5160 output pin means LM5160 work well. You may try to add a capacitor(near to the load) to get a stable 5V

If a capacitor doesn't help, please upload your schematic. And we will discuss about other solution.

Hi Victor,

There are already 10uf(smd X5R) capacitor near the comparator. But 5V supply dropping frequency is so high(Mhz-Ghz). It was not a good solution.

Hi Ozan,

What is the value of voltage drop now and what is the goal you want to achieve? To be honest, it was not a issue about LM5160. We should check the comparator you use, finding out its requirements for input voltage and learning from its typical circuit.

What‘d the part number of the comparator ？Did you tried add a 0.1uF capacitor close to the VCC of comparator？
