BQ28Z610-R1: BQ28Z610-R1 reset after open data line of I2C for 10 sec.

Part Number: BQ28Z610-R1

Dear SIr,

BQ28Z610-R1(BATTERY PACK) is reset after open data line of I2C for 10 sec.

System side has Pull up resistor. but there is no Pull up resistor for BATTERY PACK side.

is there register option to prevent IC reset? or please let me know any advise for escape this issue.

  • Hi Dexter,

Can you clarify more on what is going on? Does the gauge reset every time after 10 seconds? Have you noticed anything else happening with the gauge before it restarts?

    Best,

    Jessica

  • Hi Jessica,

We are only testing with opened data line of I2C.

We found SCL keep high and SDA keep low during 10 seconds. and then it change SCL keep high and SDA keep high. then the gauge is restarts.

The gauge is normal state before it restarts.

it seems that is hardware reset.

Could you let me know how to prevent restarts issue.

    Thanks.

  • Hi Dexter,

I'm still trying to understand what exactly is going on. There isn't a register that prevents the device from resetting. Is all other communication working OK?

  • Dear Jessica.

All other communication is working good.

please focus on low to high of SDA transition.

SCL keep high and SDA keep low during 10 seconds. and then SCL keep high and SDA change high. then the gauge is restarts.

please let me know why the gauge is restarts.

    Thanks.
