BQ40Z50: Haptic on top of the battery packs

I have a question about placing a haptic device (Linear Resonant Actuator ) on top of battery pack which potentially on top of bq40z50 device.

Would LRA cause any effect to bq40z50, ex. distortion, noise, etc?
Is there anything that we need to cautious when doing this type of the design?
is there anything we could do to minimize the effect from LRA to bq40z50, ex. sus plate in the middle.?

Hi Jack,

Can you clarify what exactly you mean by "one top of battery pack" in terms of proximity? Our recommendation would be to shield all the VCx, SRN and SRP sensing signals from any electromagnetic interference signals generated by the LRA.

In terms of the location, it depends on the design. The haptic device could be placed on top of VCx, SRN or SRP, or right on top of of the bq40z50. Regarding the shielding, any recommendation on shieling material, ex, mylar, sus plate, etc.?

Hi Jack,

Shielding is having a ground layer between these signals and LRA. It can be done in PCB or a conductive/metal grounded casing between battery pack and LRA.
