BQ29706: Question about BQ29706

Part Number: BQ29706

Hi

I have questions as below.

1. If 5v is supplied to input by dc supplier, there is no problem.
However, protection works when supplied to usb of pc.
It's the same 5v, but if you use USB, why protection works?

2. What should I change to increase the OCP and OCC settings?

Thanks

  • Hi David,

The over-voltage protection should be triggered at 5V. Have you tried capturing the 5V on a oscilloscope to see what is different about this supply?

The settings for the device are fixed. Refer to the Device Comparison Table in the datasheet for the different options available.

    Best regards,

    Matt
