Buck Converter with Reverse current blocking

Hi Team,

I want a Buck converter with Reverse current blocking protection similar to TLV62568P specification.

Requirement:-

Input : 3V - 5V

Output : 1V8/800mA

System should work in External Vehicle battery power and Internal battery. I don't want use additional Power MUX due to stringent Total system IQ current specification.

  • Hi Jebin

    Thank you for your question.

TLV62568P  should block reverse current in nominal working conditions (when working in Power Save Mode, the IC opens both high side and low side switches when the inductor current reaches 0).

However, TLV62568P and other Buck converters  don´t have specific Reverse current blocking protections and in abnormal working conditions (for example VOUT present when VIN is not supplied) they will let the reverse current flow.

Is it possible that this happen in your design? Is this a battery charger application?

    Thanks,

    Stefano
