We are using LM5164 in 48V LFP battery pack BMS(Battery Management system). our application is to step down Battery voltage to 12V. We are facing a major issue of IC bursting when we perform short circuit test on our BMS. Although the IC has wide input voltage range and we are not exceeding its limits, the problem of bursting is always there when ever we perform short circuit test on BMS. May i know the reason for it and any solution for this issue.
Our BMS detects short circuit and cutt's off in less than 1ms. (our test beanch battery pack is rated at 5Ah and our short circuit current limit is set to 50A)
