BQ34Z100-G1: Learning Cycle Failure - Lead Acid Batteries

Hi all,

I'd posted about this previously, but was missing some information, and it loos like my reply got lost down the forum. I'm running a BQ34Z100-G1 on a 54 Ah sealed lead acid battery pack. I've been unable to get it to move past 0x04 on the learning cycle.

54 Ah deep-cycle sealed lead-acid battery pack
Current scaled by 2, design energy scaled by 2
4.8A discharge, 6ish amp charge
I can't get it to move past 0x04 on the learning cycle. Not sure if I have a setting wrong, or exactly what's going on. Discharging down to 11.7V loaded, the attached log file shows two charge and discharge cycles...

Hello Peter,

Please follow the guide here: /cfs-file/__key/communityserver-discussions-components-files/196/6254.How-to-Complete-a-Successful-Learning-Cycle-for-the-BQ34z100.pdf

You will need to discharge at C/5 in order for the Ra tables to be updated, this may be disqualifying your learning cycle if your design capacity is set at 54Ah.

Hi Wyatt. Unfortunately, pushing it up as high as I could, 10.5A, didn't update it. Log attached. Our design capacity isn't actually set at 54Ah, as we're only taking the batteries down to 11.7V on the discharge test, which puts them at something like 48Ah. Either way, log file attached. Thanks,
