BQ27546-G1: How do I make BQ27546-G1 work properly

Dear All

I used this IC for the first time, so I don't know how to make it work. Right now I need to use it on the android o1 mtk platform.

I used the defualt driver bq27x00_battery.c for kernel-3.18, and keep it working.I2C is communicating normally.However, the Battery

voltage is currently only available correctly. Some of the other information is incorrect like Battery capacity =0, State of Charge =0.

I don't know what configuration is required for this IC to work normally. Which registers should be put in to record the battery information.

Hope someone can answer this question.

Hi Xiang Wu,

I recommend you check out the Technical Reference Manual for this gauge. You also might need to make adjustments to the registers and values used in your driver code because BQ27546 is not in the BQ27X00 device family.

I've already read the Technical Reference Manual,but it just seems to have some instructions for reading registers.

I want to know which registers I should adjust. I upload my driver files, could you help me see how I should revise it?

Hi Xiang Wu,

I can't tell you which registers to change because that is dependent on your specific application. The gauge will automatically record battery information using the default values.

Hi Jessica,

Now, I have been able to generate the Golden Image corresponding to my IC through BQStudio.

But if it is mass-produced, I hope to flash the Golden Image through my code. So can you tell me

what I should do in my linux driver or is there a sample code for that.

Hello,

We usually recommend following SLUA801 to parse the flash stream files for programming.

You will need to use bqStudio and EV2400 to program the original chem ID which you found using GPCCHEM and then you can export your final configuration after the learning cycle is performed.
