BQ24073: About input current limit

Hi,

Customer system load is heavier than expected, and it is necessary to use it while limiting the input current.
Ex）Ilim:1.31A setting , Charge current : 0.79A , System load:1A

At this time, this device operates with current limitation according to the Ilim setting.
As a result, it works while limiting to 1.31A.

Could you give me some advice on the risks of using it with current limitation?

    Hi Yusuke,

    This is fine and is working as intended. The only concern I would have is that you may not see the full charge current on the battery. Typically the balance between current is as follows:

    Input Current = Charge Current + Load Current

    And so you are  most likely seeing about 300 mA going into your battery (instead of the programmed 790 mA) while the rest goes into the system load.
