BQ40Z80: Inhibition of charge and discharge with SMBUS unconnected

Hi,

I have the Smart battery that stop charge and discharge when the smbus is unconnected.

I checked these bits and seems that they are ok.

Which kind of problem can trigger this?

Hello,

Can you explain your test further? The gauge will shutoff discharge/charge if one of the protections are triggered or you manually shut them down.

This was not a test but it is happened during the normal operations.

The gauge shutted down the charge/discharge of the pack when the I2C bus was disconnected.

Have you checked if any protections happened when I2C bus was disconnected?

How do you know the gauge shut down the charge/discharge when you disconnected the I2C? According to pack voltage?
