ISO5500: Prior AECQ100 qualification

Part Number: ISO5500

One of our engineers who has worked with this device in the past believes it once had AECQ100 qualification. We cannot find any record or documentation on the Data Sheet of AECQ100 being removed. Was it AECQ100 qualified at one time?

If it did have AECQ100 qualification in the past, when was it removed and why?

We understand there are other isolated gate drivers from TI with AECQ100, but unfortunately the pinouts are different.

Thanks in advance for your assistance,

Gary

  • Gary,

ISO5500 was never offered in AEC-Q100 trim.

While we continue to support the product, This is a very old and expensive product and I strongly recommend to consider moving to a newer / superior driver for new designs regardless of whether you need AEC-Q100 or not, with just a minor footprint change only.

I would recommend taking a look at ISO5851-Q1/ISO5451-Q1 (single outputs), and ISO5852S-Q1/ISO5452-Q1.

These parts are not just better than ISO5500, but even the AEC-Q100 versions of them are significantly lower cost.

We have a comparison on E2E here
