LM5155-Q1: Can't run simulation of LM5155-Q1_trans.opj(Flyback_Startup)

Hi team,

My customer is designing a flyback converter using LM5155, and trying to simulate on PSPICE for TI.

He is trying to simulate LM5155-Q1 FLYBACK STARTUP SIMULATION which is incorporated to reference design whose project file is LM5155-Q1_TRANS.OPJ.

However, he can't place a marker on the schematic by error of "Markers can not be placed on a page that is not within the current hierarchy" though its schematic page is activated. When he try to change simulation profile to "Flyback-startup-trans" from "Startup-trans" default setting, the PC is frozen...

[Question]

What should we do to run the simulation of LM5155-Q1 FLYBACK STARTUP SIMULATION ?
The customer would like to simulate flyback converter with transformer which has AUX winding.
The reference design uses named "750317933" transformer. How can he model transformer with AUX winding?
Is it possible to edit 750317933 transformer?
I copied whole parts of LM5155-Q1 FLYBACK STARTUP SIMULATION to schematic of another new project. But it also can't run successfully because I think it doesn't include .lib faile of opto-coupler and transformer. Could you please send me these models offline?

Hello,

Thanks for reaching out. Changing the simulation profile to "flyback startup trans" you should be able to run your simulation. Are you sure that the Pspice you are using is correctlly installed and updated? What happens if you download it again from the TI website and try to run it with one marker ? Are the other two simulation profiles working (e.g. the boost)?

Hi Elisabetta,

I recently installed PSPICE for TI again, and no problem so far.

When I change the simulation profile to "flyback startup trans", my PC get frozen as below.

Other simulation profiles(Startup_trans, Steady_State-trans, Sepic) profile works properly.

So the problems occurs only at flyback.

What about 2nd and 3rd question?

Hi Elisabetta,

I have update on these inquiry.

When I change simulation profile to flyback, PSPICE for TI gets freeze. But it recovers normal after waiting around 20min. Then, I could run the simulation.

Since it takes so long time for each action, I made another project using LM5155-Q1DSSS_TRANS.

I emulated 750317933 using 3 inductors and K_Linear. Also, I could save encrypted model of PS2811 as .lib file then imported to the project.

Finally, the new project is able to run simulation more smoothly.

Thanks for the update. The simulator should anyway not freeze in this way, I am currently in touch with the team that takes care on this type of issues to find out the root cause.

Is it possible to deliver a unencrypted model of flyback transformer so that user can adapt the simulation to his own application?

I am now trying to simulate with LTspice. I got all LTspice model except the LTspice model LM5155-Q. I can download a

LM5155-Q1_TRANS.LIB from your Webpage. But I can not creat the Symble of LM5155-Q in LTspice.

Can you send me a LTspice model for it ?

I open the uncrypted Pspice model of LM5155-Q in Pspice for TI and save the

.SUBCKT LM5155-Q1_TRANS

I generated a Symble of LM5155 in LTspice with the .SUBCKT LM5155-Q1_TRANS. But simulation runs into error with some error information in the textcode in .SUBCKT LM5155-Q1.
