BQ76952EVM: BQ76952EVM sealed

Hi Oliver,

It looks like the EV2400 firmware version is 0.18? Are you using an external EV2400 module or have you changed the firmware on the EVM?

Did you accidentally send the Seal command? If so, you should be able to unseal the device by following the steps in chapter 8 of the BQ76952 TRM.

I was just actually configuring the Settings and the Protection an then all of the sudden it just went Sealed. I'm not sure what happen but i did not send the Sealed command.

Yes ev2400 firmware is 0.18 and it's is connected to the bq76952evm via I2C.

You need to update the EV2400 firmware. Here is a newer version that should work: https://tidrive.ext.ti.com/u/hFkU19bZFNWWWRTW/EV2400Updater-0.32-windows-installer.exe.zip?l

Or you can use the on-board EV2400 that is on the EVM. Just connect to the USB-C connector from your PC and configure the jumpers to connect the I2C.

Hi Matt,

I am now using the on board ev2400. What is the next step to unseal the data memory?

The default Security keys are 36720414 and FFFFFFFF. 

BQStudio already knows the default keys, so you just need to click the 'UNSEAL' and 'UNSEAL_FULL_ACCESS' commands on the command menu. If you changed the security keys before sealing, you will not be able to unseal if you do not know the keys.

The data memory is still in sealed mode even after sending UNSEAL then UNSEAL_FULL_ACCESS commands several times. There was no message to indicate that i entered a wrong key (i have not change the key)
