BQ40Z50-R1: The SOC of BQ40z50 will jump

Part Number: BQ40Z50-R1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO, GPCCHEM

Hello,

When I charged the battery to about 60% SOC, the battery was placed in rest. The SOC of the battery will slowly jump higher, and after a few days, the SOC will become about 90%. When in the rest mode, which setting can turn off the SOC jump?

  • Hi jingming sun,

Can you share your gg file and a bqStudio log?

    Best,

    Jessica

  • Hello, I tested two sets of batteries, 1# and 2#. 2# There is no log data. Both sets of batteries will jump, please help confirm the settings, thanks!1#gg.csv1#log.log2#.gg.csv

  • I check the manual, DODEW can be improved, but if you set it to 0 or 1, it still jumps

  • Hello,

Here is a list of the most common issues when running performance tests on our gauges and the SOC is jumping.

    1. Make sure the correct chem ID is being used, either by matching the exact manufacturer ID in the database or using the GPCCHEM tool. Matching the chemistry type and capacity in the database is not sufficient.
    2. Learning cycle was not completed before testing, without the learning cycle the gauge cannot accurately gauge the specific system, refer to SLUA450 for why the Ra and Qmax values learned are critical. For learning cycle information refer to the TRM of the gauge or SLUA903.
    3. The impedance track algorithm is not activated during the test so the gauge is not actively calculating FCC and RemCap. The bit is usually IT_EN or GAUGE_EN.
    4. During cold temperature tests a further temperature compensation need to be completed. The GPCRB tool can calculate the needed the parameters.

    Sincerely,

    Wyatt Keller
