TPS1HB50-Q1: Datasheet clarifications: RILIM pull-up, resistance value, and FAULT pin

Part Number: TPS1HB50-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS1HC100-Q1

Hello,

I am planning to use the TI TPS1HB50-Q1 Smart High Side Switch for a project I am working on and I have some questions about it.

  • Should the ILIM pin should be pulled up to VBB? Just want to verify this. Typically I have seen this pulled to GND for other smart switches.
  • In the datasheet, it mentions the “FAULT” pin quite a lot but I don’t see this pin as being part of this IC. Is this a typo? It looks like this is a typo and is meant for another part.
  • We are planning to drive only about 50mA (maybe max 100mA) through this IC. If I’m reading the datasheet correctly, it looks like it’s recommended to use a max resistor value of 25kOhm for the RILIM resistor, this would be nominally about a max current limit of 3.4A. This is correct? I was going to use a 100kOhm resistor but this would go against the recommended values.

Thank You,

Ashiful
