TPS92682-Q1: Boost CC LED short to ground protection

Part Number: TPS92682-Q1

In boost constant current LED driver I would like to have a short to ground protection.

Can someone confirm TPS92682-Q1 drives PDRV to CSP in such case?

I cannot find such information in published documentation.

On block diagram Power_FLT signal can arise only form ORed signals: TSD, BG_NOK, UVLO, POR. I think UVLO is only for supply under-voltage, not output under-voltage.

Please enlighten the subject.

  • Hello,

If you look on figure 8-20 on page 77 of the specification, it shows the behavior and protection of a Boost topology with an output short.  When you have a short at the output there will be an LED over current that is sensed with CSP and CSP and it will disable the PWM dimming FET and disconnect the load.

    Thanks Tuan
