BQ40Z60: How to know if my cell is original based on learning cycle and data log?

Part Number: BQ40Z60

Hi,

So recenly I use VTC6 3000mA Murata for the first time using BQ40z60. After do first learning cycle, I got some strange behavior including balancing and cell temperature.

How to ensure if my VTC6 is original, could We somehow compare the log and see if RA table produce after learning cycle is match with Chem ID I've used?

FYI, I use 2141 Sony VTC6 3000mAh. VTC6_FirstLearning.zip

  • Widji,

When using a new battery the best thing to do it to run a match using our GPC online tool https://www.ti.com/tool/GAUGEPARCAL. If the ID you used is in the list the you should be ok to proceed with the learning.

The sysrate log file you provided has a few chg/dsg cycles in it. you only want one charge and one discharge to exist in the file for the tools to calculate correctly.

    THanks,

  • So, based on article slva725a I've read, you were right about one charge and one discharge. since you know, new cell already have some voltage around 3.7V and my question, is it ok to start charge cycle in this voltage or should I discharge the battery to empty then start logging charge-discharge after?

  • Widji,

The best procedure to follow would be.

    1) Discharge

    2) Rest

    3) Charge

    4) Rest

    5) Discharge

    6) Rest

Only submit a log for steps 2-6 to our tools

    Thanks,
