Hi,

I have a question about the IoL on the RESET pin.

Customer request: Under the following conditions

Operating temperature: -10 ° C to + 60 ° C
VCC: 12V ± 1V

They need an IOL value that the VOL of the RESET pin is less than 0.6V.

According to Figure 3, 1.5mA or less is likely to meet this requirement.

This was my advice for the customer, but it was rejected because it was not a guaranteed value.

Can TI offer a guaranteed value?

This question is just to determine the pull-up resistance value of the RESET PIN.

Please tell me the recommended value of TI or how to decide it according to the customer's condition.

Hi Hiroshi,

Assume that the pullup resistor from /RESET to the power rail is 12V and based on Figure 3, let's choose the current to be 3mA. At worst case temp of 85C, the VOL voltage is around ~500mV, which is less than 0.6V. Therefore, the resistor calculation is (12V - 0.5V)/3mA = ~3.833Kohms. This means the customer can use a resistor that is 3.833Kohms or larger to ensure the RESET pin voltage is less than 0.6V. I hope this answers the customer's question.
