Hi,
For the first time ever I have fallen victim to an overheating buck-convertor.
The 13V rail is only loaded by a 1.8Anom fan with speed control (I know this is not an ideal setup but its what the application requires) and a MOSFET used for 13V PWM scale-up. The thermal pad of the IC is connected to ground of a 2-layer PCB and I have calulcated the boundry components through WEBENCH and with pen & paper just to be secure and everything seems to be fine. All in all the IC should be able to handle this load.
What could I do fix this issue? Is this a known problem?
Thanks for the help!
Kr,
Alexander
