Hi team,

Bq78350 has a problem in debugging parameters.

The power and voltage can be read normally, but the parameters in the system will disappear, can not be changed or imported into the previous parameters;

At present, there are two; Please look at the picture of the fault. It will be normal only after the chip is replaced. Can this be restored through software settings?

    Hi Zhonghui,

    It looks like BQStudio is not able to communicate with your device. You can try to reprogram the srec file to see if that resolves the issue. 

    The message that says "Turn off SBS scanning before programming" means you need to turn off the Scan feature on the Registers screen. The Scan button tells BQStudio to constantly read from the device and you do not want this communication while the device is being programmed. You should also turn off the Dashboard by clicking the green banner on the top left corner of the BQStudio screen before programming.

    If the programming is interrupted, then it can leave the device in a bad unusable state.

    According to the information provided by you, after closing the scan or other interfaces, re importing the previous parameters is still not normal; And there are warnings.

    Because customer don't have a professional software engineer here, do you have process guidance? 

    At present, The customer have two problems. The first one is that, as shown in the figure below, the file cannot be imported or exported normally and an error will be reported. At the same time, all parameters will disappear. Sometimes the parameters can be recovered, but some cannot.

    The second problem is that it can be charged at 20A, but it can be protected after discharging at 17A.

    Hi Zhonghui,

    If they cannot communicate with the device using BQStudio, it is likely the device needs to be replaced. 

    Another possibility is they have a noisy connection on the SMBus lines.

    Thank you for your reply.
    This is not possible. You can see the status on the left .It can read the power and equipment in real time. The blank parameters will appear when adjusting the parameters. Reset is useless. After all the interfaces are closed, press UNSEAL again,It is recovery.

    Hi Matt,

    Now when I debug, I often find that I can't read bq78350. In the protection setting, all parameters disappear; When this happens, I want to know, is the chip protected, stop the modification outside? Need specific path settings to recover? Or did the chip crash? If the crashes, are the original parameters gone? Will there be no protection function?

    Hi Zhonghui,

    Sorry, I am a little confused. The device is sealed? If the device is in SEALED mode, you will not be able to access the data flash and some of the commands will not be allowed. Table 17-2 of the TRM shows which commands are available in SEALED mode.
