LM3447: Reference design for 30W LED Driver application using LM3447

Hi Power management team,

I am Eric, FAE based in Vietnam. One of my customer are working on "LED Lighting Dimming" project.

They use our LM3447 as a controller for LED lighting in their design. The Pout (LED Driver Output Power) requirement is around 30W, however we do not provide any reference design of LM3447 system for that high Pout.

They customer want to know that:

1. Do we have any reference design for LED Driver using LM3447 with Pout of 30W?.

2. In case we do not have a specific reference design for 30W LED Driver application using LM3447:

The customer try to use our LM3447 Design Tool to calculate the parameters in the design to adapt Pout of 30W, however the parameters in Transformer Design Table is errored and they do not know how to tune these Transformer parameters. Can you provide tuning parameters for Transformer parameters when the Pout is 30W.

Hi Eric,

We really don't have special design for 30W.

Please pay attention to the notes, and the above row is the recommended value while customer can input the actual value in the below row, it's recommended that the actual value is close to the recommended value.

Hi Robin,

It is so random that the recommended values in this case is a range.

Can you help to choose transformer parameters for Pout of 30W?

Hi Rohin,

Customer as if he can use the Transformer shown in attached pdf file?

If not, can you tune the transformer parameters based on this Transformer and give us a new table for reference?

Hi Eric,

Since the transformer instruction loses lots of info and I can't guarantee the final performance. Pls help apply an LM3447 EVM to customer and change the transformer with the chosen one to see the actual performance. Thanks!
