UCC28086: Isolated Push-pull

Hi..

One of my customer want to design isolated boost. Below are the specification.

Input voltage - 12V Lead Acid battery (10V to 14VDC)

Output - 250V DC @ 100mA

At present they have selected UCC28086 for the application.

They need help to define the transformer for push-pull configuration. Pls. help for the same.

They also ordered Coil craft transformer, pls. find attachment.

With the present design, even in no load condition design is taking too much of current & MOSFETs are blasting. For the better current ontrol, they are now using CVCC bench top power supplies, but current gets saturating to 3A (power supply limit) but design is not working.

What could be the reason?  according to transformer datasheet, primary inductance is 32uH where webench design is showing way higher than the transformer inductance. Pls. find webench file as well. Although I am not very confident on webench simulation as it was showing error but somehow it came up.WBDesign135.pdf

    The Webench design you attached does not match the specifications you are listing in this E2E thread? Defining the transformer top level specifications should be easy using Power Stage Designer. Please download and use TI Power Stage Designer. Enter your converter specifications and you will at least be able to have a sense of the peak voltages, currents and transformer mag inductance, turns ratio, etc.

    Unfortunately we do not have a design tool calculator available for UCC28086 push-pull but if you check the UCC28083 or UCC2806 product folders, there may be more application notes related to the push-pull topology that can help.
