what's the difference between TPS73601DRBR and TPS736125DRBR?
Can I use TPS736125DRBR to replace TPS73601DRBR ?
Regards
Brian
Hey Brian,
TPS73601DRBR is an adjustable LDO which has the output voltage set using an external resistor divider while the TPS736125DRBR has an internal resistor divider and has the output voltage set to 1.25V and cannot be adjusted externally.
So yes a fixed output voltage device (TPS736125DRBR) can be used to replace an adjustable version of that device. Note that if the resistor dividers are left on the PCB they will act as a small DC load, this is not a concern from the LDO's point of view but it will result in a small increase in the power dissipated.
Hey Brian,
Yes the global semiconductor shortage has presented many challenges like this. Below are my suggested p2p parts which are currently showing inventory, I'm providing several options since inventory levels can change quickly.
TPS74518PQWDRBRQ1: ~29ku
TPS73718DRBR: : ~71ku
TPS74601PQWDRBRQ1 (requires different resistor values due to 0.55V reference): ~50ku
