TPS54335A: PH pin short to GND issue

Hi,

My customer encountered TPS54335A PH pin damaged issue, below is customer's design.

I have been create another Vin=24V, Vout=5V/3A design from webench, but seems some COMP value/ switching frequency setting is different.

Different COMP value it may cause some operation abnormal than cause PH pin damage?

Hi Jeff,

The schematic is ok. Before the PH damage issue, what operating applied to the device? And what's the failure rate?

What do you mean "operating applied to the device"? Failure rate now is un-know, because it RMA return.

Hi Jeff,

I mean this issue hapenned under what's condition, any operating to the device before this hapenned. like Power on/off, load transient or short test, etc..

Hi Ryan,

Due to it RMA return,
So customer got fail MB just know TPS54335A PH pin is short to GND, but they don'r know is what kind of condition....

Hi Ryan,

Customer noted loading side have an inrush current sometimes up to 4.89A as below waveform, they suspect many times OCP maybe cause it damaged.
