BQSTUDIO: Cannot import gg.csv file

Part Number: BQSTUDIO
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ34Z100-G1,

I am trying to import a gg.csv file into data memory of a bq34z100-g1 device.  However, although the data on screen is updated correctly, proving that there is nothing wrong with the file itself, as soon as I click on Write All, the data reverts back to the original values.  The only way I can make the data 'stick' is by double clicking on each data entry in turn, which is far too tedious to do for a lot of data.  And even with doing this, some data will not change such as CC delta and offset values, which then means I have to recalibrate.

Why is this occurring?

Julian

  • Hi Julian,

Please check if you have the correct bqz and that you have completed a read before you attempt a write.

  • Yes, it is the correct device (bq34z100-g1), which I have been using for a while with bqStudio with no problem (other than auto voltage calibration will not work - I have to do it manually by adjusting the voltage divider value directly).

    I follow the sequence:

    Read Data Memory

Import gg.csv file (either all data, or selected data)

    Write Data Memory.

On the final step, values revert to original.  If I try to read after importing the gg.csv file, then this also causes the data to revert to its original values.

    Julian

  • Hi Julian,

Please check if the divider ratio is wrong and therefore the voltage reported in the battery registers is wrong. If that's the case, then you won't be able to import using bqstudio as it will think the battery voltage is below flash update voltage.

  • Hi Batt,

My divider ratio is correct (voltage is correctly reported for the stack) so this cannot be the reason.  Also, I deliberately set the flash update voltage to zero, as I use a regulated external supply to power the bqz which may well be monitoring a battery with low voltage.

    Regards,

    Julian

  • Hello Julian

Can you send a screen shot of the register window of bqstudio?

    thanks
