BQ27441-G1: initialization Issue

Hi Sir，

Under -25 degree centigrade for an hour, then power on device , the initialization of BQ27441 was failed.

the log is as follow:

  54.225798] bq27441 1-0055: unseal: failed
[   54.286139] bq27441 1-0055: read_dm_block: error reading subclass 82 offset 0
[   54.405975] bq27441 1-0055: update_dm_block: error updating subclass 82 offset 27
[   60.115750] bq27441 1-0055: exit_cfg_update_mode: failed fffb

Do you meet this issue? pls give some recommendation on it.

Does the device recover when the temperature is returned to normal? The gauge ought to work from about -40C to 85C, so i a surprised at cold temp failures you are seeing.Are you sure the failures is caused by the cold temperature exposure?

I am not sure. What we see points to cold temperature exposure. Could you give some recommendation on this issue?

because the gauge op temp is about -40C to 85C, so -25C is not over the range, why it can not work normally?

hi Sara,

Can you connect the device to bqstudio and obtain a log file while the failure is occurring so we see what is causing the chip to fail? When you mean failure, is the device NACKing ? We need some more details on the failure mechnism to know what is going on and what recommendation to offer.
