Switch for selecting voltage source, batteries should not be charged, perhaps TPS2115A

  • Hi Ed,

Thank you for connecting Jens with the correct groups to assist him with his problems.

The TPS2115A is power multiplexing device with 2 inputs and a single output. The device does come with Reverse and Cross-conduction protection to keep current from flowing from one power rail to the other.

This device will select an output depending on the configuration of the D0 and D1 pins. Two different configurations can be found with details in the "Application Information" section in the datasheet.

If you have more specific questions feel free to add more comments on this thread or create a new thread about this device or any other Texas Instruments power multiplexing device. Just be sure to include the specific part number you are inquiring about so the question can be directed to the correct group.

  • Hi Andy,

thanks for your explanation. I also think that  the TPS2115A would fit quiet good.

But do you think there are also other interesting products with similar functions that can also fit?

    Best regards, Jens Herrgesell

  • Hi Jens,

The TPS2115A does not have a newer version of itself in our portfolio. This could be your best option depending on the needs you have for your application. Other power multiplexing devices that might be worth to take a look at could be the TPS2120/TPS2121. These are some of our newer devices that come with additional protective features.

For more information on other power multiplexer or new product releases you could always visit ti.com and take a look at our portfolio.

  • Hi Andy,

thanks for your answer. I think the other controller would also be a good idea. This would help me a lot.

    Best regards,

    Jens
