[FAQ] AM62L ( AM62L32 , AM62L31 ) Custom board hardware design - Available design files and supported CAD tools format that can be used during custom board Schematic and PCB design

Part Number: AM62L

Tool/software:

Hi TI Experts,

I am working on custom board design and have query on the below:

Available design files and supported CAD tools.

I am specifically interested in knowing if Schematic, PCB layout and manufacturing files generated using Altium tools will be available

  • Hi Board designers

    Refer below inputs:

Design files in Orcad / Allegro tool format

    www.ti.com/.../TMDS62LEVM

    SPRCAL6C.ZIP (97017 KB)

    AM62L E1 & E1-1 designs.

Schematic Entry - OrCAD Capture CIS 17.4

PCB Layout          - Cadence Allegro 17.4 (Files will be downgraded to 17.2)

List of files available in the folder:

    6646.Proc180E1-1_Folders_Files_List.xlsx

Note: The above design package includes .ALG ASCII file that can be used.

Design files in Altium tool format

  • Hi Board designers

We now have Altium folder for AM62L that customers can download and continue the edits for the custom board.

The files have been translated from Allegro design files and has been matched for all design constraints. This will save significant design efforts for customer designing with AM62L using Altium.

The FAQ has been updated with the Altium files translated from the ORCAD + Allegro files for your reference and use.

    Please Note the following.

The Altium files have been translated from ORCAD + Allegro files

Constraints that were missing during translation has been manually updated to match the allegro design files

The layout files have been updated for any missing nets or copper pours

The Gerbers files between the Altium and Allegro design have been overlapped and compared

All the DNI components have been updated

Care to be taken during reused and board build:

Since the board schematics and layout are matched, there is no concern of design Mis-match

During reuse, the recommendation is to review the design files following internal process

Boards have not been built using the Altium translated files but this is not a constraint since the boards with allegro design files have been built and tested.

For any queries, start an E2E.

    Regards,

    Sreenivasa
