This is the expected behavior in SDK 8.1 because MAC-only mode has been enabled and the MAC ports have been partitioned to be either in "switch" mode (the traditional mode) or "MAC-only" mode.

The new ethernet interface that you see in Linux corresponds to a MAC-only port which is being allocated to A72 core.

If you are interested in using the port partition pre-SDK8.1, then please try updating EthFw port config as shown below:
