Part Number: TDA4VM
Hi,
I have multiple questions regarding the possibility of connecting several TDA4VM processors on a custom PCB with symmetric communication pattern (send and receive). I consider a design with 2, 3 or 4 TDA4 chips.
1. Looking at the docs it seems that the only interface suitable for at least 2.5 Gbps duplex communication is PCIe. Am I correct?
2. Is it possible to connect two TDA4VM via PCIe just by passive PCB traces, without an additional chip?
3. What is the recommended topology to connect three or four TDA4VM via PCIe? Is there a reference design?
It seems there is also a gigabit ethernet support, obviously limited to 1Gbps, but with 4 external ports. In case I could lower the communication requirements to 1Gbps, I'd also like to ask similar question for GbE:
4. Can I connect two/three/four TVA4VM chips via SGMII/RGMII lanes on a PCB (with TX/RX swapped of course) without an additional IC? Do you have recommendations/reference design?
Thanks,
Ilia.
