TDA4VM: PCIe board to board connection

Hello,

I'd like to use the PCIe connectors on the TDA4VM evaluation board for

1) TD4AVM EVM to TD4AVM EVM connection in PCIe 3.0 4x (master slave, one board set a root complex the other board set as an endpoint) --> any suggestions ?

2) TD4AVM EVM to FPGA connection in PCIe 3.0 4x (master slave, TDA4VM board set a root complex the FPGA) board set as an endpoint
but the TQA4VM evaluation board provides a 4x port female vs the FPGA board 8x male --> any suggestions ?

what are the solutions proposed by TI for these use cases ?

on 1). you can refer to:

but please note that PCIe ports on TDA4VM are limited to 2x only. The connectors and cable can be 4-lane form-factor. but actual link is 2x max. Also the demo above does not use clock and reset signals on the cable, thus each side have their own refclk.

On 2). You may still use the x4lane slot on the EVM, again, actual data lanes are limited to 2x. Then you may get a x8->x4 adapter, which basically vacant 4 lanes from the EP.
