TDA4VM: How to change the output format and resolution of VISS? And how to get it ?

Dear TI team,

I'm working on the TDA4 EVM board with IMX390 camera. and RTOS SDK is ti-processor-sdk-rtos-j721e-evm-07_02.

I'm trying to change the output format and resolution of VISS output. And I want to get it for sending to linux pcie driver.

But I can't find a good solution for this. Could you help check this case? Thanks.

Hi JaeWook,

VISS can support YUV420 and YUV422 as output format. So you could select one of these output format by configuring mux_output2 and mux_output3 correctly and changing format in the output vx_image.

VISS cannot change the output resolution alone, it works on same resolution as input. So if you change output resolution in CSIRX, VISS output resolution will also change..

Thank you for your quick update.

In addition, I want to catch up(as dequeue) the output data of VISS for sending it to linux kernel.

Is there any sample or functions for this?

Hi JaeWook Kim,

Are you planning to use OpenVX framework? Then, yes, it is possible to get viss output buffer on Linux..

Hi JaeWook Kim,

Can you please refer to the usage of the flag, img_write_node, in this example? When this flag is enable, code will try to save VISS output to a file.. It is implemented in APT app_send_cmd_viss_write_node, in the ti-processor-sdk-rtos-j721e-evm-08_00_00_12\vision_apps\modules\src\app_viss_module.c file.
