Hi,
I am able to reproduce the issue on TDA4VM board. I raised an internal bug and is being tracked internally. I will keep you posted
as and when I receive the updates.
- Keerthy
Dear Sir:
May I ask whether there is any progress in the internal case? Generally, how long does this kind of problem need to be solved? Can we wait for TI's reply?
In addition, we hope to serve as a protection mechanism for service anomalies at the system layer. If a service anomaly is found, the watchdog will be triggered to reset the system. Is there any other scheme, such as MCU WDG, available
Thank you very much
Hi Jin Lei,
Apologies for the long wait. I am tracking this bug at priority. I will keep you posted on this.
In addition, we hope to serve as a protection mechanism for service anomalies at the system layer. If a service anomaly is found, the watchdog will be triggered to reset the system. Is there any other scheme, such as MCU WDG, available
Trigger from Linux or Some firmware running on MCUs?
- Keerthy
Trigger from Linux or Some firmware running on MCUs?
--> Trigger from Linux
We found that Wdog can generate SOC_SAFETY_ERRORn signal, but the system cannot be reset after the pull-down of GPIO7 corresponding to pMIC.
We checked the PMIC ESM_MCU_EN register configuration and it seems to be correct.

And by the way,
opt/ltp# ./runltp -P j721e-idk-gw -f ddt/wdt_test -s "WDT_M_FUNC_WRI" this test case is invalid;
You can run the "echo C > /dev/watchdog" command to start the watchdog and catch the SOC_SAFETY_ERRORn signal being pulled down one minute later
Hi Keerthy,
Any closer to solution?Looking forward to your reply. Thanks.
-- Pengxu S
Hi Keerthy,
We found that in some cases 0x5A register value changed to 9a. We think it means there are some problems on SoC power. Hope you can tell us if this understanding is correct ? Is this imformation useful in our case ? Thanks a lot .
-- Pengxu S

Hi Pengxu S,
The issue is also reproduced on some of the later versions of the board. This is being debugged by the development team internally.
This is tracked for 8.4 SDK version fix. I will keep you posted as and when there is an update on this.
- Keerthy
Please follow the above FAQ to get watchdog reset functional on TDA4-SK.
