Hi Champs,
we are using the MT35XU256ABA1G12-0AUT which is set to OSPI by default.
Will OSPI boot work or doe we need to set xOSPI boot?
Kind regards,

Hi
This flash is from the same family of devices as MT35XU512ABA1G12 - which is on the TDA4VM EVM. This micron flash supports OSPI boot mode (1S-1S-8S) but not xSPI boot mode (which uses SFDP). Below sections from the Public TRM (here) will help in the difference and description of the two modes.
xSPI boot mode is possible only with flashes complaint with JEDEC xSPI standards JESD251 and JESD216D.

Hi Karan,
I'm a little bit confused because the Micron MT35XU512ABA in fact does support XSPI and is JEDEC JESD216 compliant.
So I expect one needs to set boot mode for this flash to XSPI?

Also for the IFX/Cypress S28HS512TGABHM010 (used on TI TDA4VE/L EVM) it became clear that this one is XSPI and JEDEC JESD251 compliant.
So we believe that this as well explains that we have to set the EVM to XSPI for correct start-up.
Can you please check again and give me feedback, if my understanding is correct?
Hi Stefan
I've started an offline communication on this. Will keep you in the loop.

Stefan
Based on the email discussion, the current MT35X flash family is complain to JESD216F.
TI’s current ROM/SDK needs the flash to be compliant to JEDEC JESD216D, with Micron’s flash being Rev F compliant I’m not sure if that is backward compatible with ROM/SDK written for Rev D. I would expect this to be the case, but I will need to double check this.
Will post a response once I have this discussed with TI's internal teams.
