Does SYS/BIOS support migration of tasks between cores?

We are considering a new software design for our application that runs on a C6000 multi-core dsp. A desirable feature of the design would be to migrate tasks between the dsp cores to balance the processing load across the cores.

I believe that Linux supports migration of processes across cpus. Does SYS/BIOS support migration of tasks between cores?

Currently BIOS does not support migration of tasks between cores.

You should look at the IPC documentation. We provide MessageQ and Notify modules to help with communication between threads on the multiple cores. We do not do any migration of threads from one core to another, but we do support synchronized bring up and communication between multiple cores using IPC. TI provided SDKs with software and examples for multicore devices.
