Please help - DSK6713 HPI Boot Process from PC

Hello Community,

I have a quite urgent question that is keeping me busy for a while.

I just want to be able to load my programm into the DSP memory not using CCS 4. I have read a lot of documents like

SPRU 578 -TMS320C6000 DSP Host Port Interface (HPI) Reference Guide

SPRA 512 - Implementing the TMS320C6201/C6701/C6211 HPI Boot Process

but I cannot figure out how to communicate from a PC.

SPRA 512 describes booting a DSP from another DSP. I think I did understand how the process works. But I have no clue how to communicate and boot using the USB/JTAG emulator on the DSK6713.

Sorry, if it sounds very simple. I am quite new to this overall topic. I think I just need a push in the right direction.

  • The only way to load a program from the PC to this platform is to use an emulator and a program like CCS that can communicate via the emulator to the DSP.  It turns out that the DSK6713 has an emulator built-in, that you connect to using the USB port on the board.  But you will need CCS to make use of this.
