AM623: DDR TOOL setting problem

Part Number: AM623

Tool/software:

Hi Expert,

Please tell me how to set the field parameters of IOControi A and IOControi B in DDR TOOL according to what?

After generating the parameter file, add the file to EVK in step 2 as shown below. Is it complete? Or will the K parameters be deleted after the parameters are added to EVK, and the parameters that finally K will be the parameters I want to apply?

Thanks

Daniel

  • Hi Daniel,

    Thanks for your query.

Please tell me how to set the field parameters of IOControi A and IOControi B in DDR TOOL according to what?

The above field parameters needs to be configured according to the DDR device datasheet.

This timing values adhere to the DDR device datasheet used in the corresponding system. Some parameters may require de-rating at high temperature. The user is responsible for entering the de-rated timing; this is not accounted for in software.

Or will the K parameters be deleted after the parameters are added to EVK, and the parameters that finally K will be the parameters I want to apply?

Can you please tell us what do you mean by K parameters?

    Regards,

    Tushar

  • Hi Tushar

The K parameter means whether the timing parameters, calibration and signal integrity related parameters set in the parameter file will be tested.
Make sure there is no problem with the parameter file I set.
Because I read that the website description should update the set parameter file to EVK, but I don’t quite understand whether the parameter file needs to be tested.

    Thanks

    Daniel

  • Hi Daniel,

The K parameter means whether the timing parameters, calibration and signal integrity related parameters set in the parameter file will be tested

User needs to be aware of what values they are configuring for above parameters. As these values are directly coming from the DDR device specific datasheet, board design & topology.

Please refer DDR_Config_README to learn more.

The values inside the board_ddrReginit.h file configured from the DDR config tool is used during DDR initialization.

Please refer DRIVERS_DDR for more details.

    Hope the above information helps.
