AM3352: Problem interfacing with MT29F8G08ABACAH4-IT:C

Part Number: AM3352

In our architecture we are currently using the AM3352BZCZ60 processor with the MT29F4G08ABBDAHC-IT NAND flash. We have recently upgraded the NAND to MT29F8G08ABACAH4-IT:C.

Our firmware team is experiencing some difficulty in bringing up the board from boot with the new part. Is there any documentation that we can refer to which might help in this regard?

Is there a technical resource that we can have a quick with in this regard?

Hello Gaurav,

Can you please post the sysboot pin settings and parts of the schematics related to NAND?

For technical resources I can recall TRM (section 26.1.8.4 NAND)

You can also check if it is not related to ECC like discussed in this thread:

The upgraded part MT29F8G08ABACAH4-IT:C is 3.3V operating voltage whereas the previous part MT29F4G08ABBDAHC-IT is 1.8V operating voltage.

Was the IO supply changed from 1.8V to 3.3V?

Hi Gaurav,

Is there any other update in the design in addition to the NAND upgrade? If there are none, there is a big chance it is ECC needs to be set up for the new geometry as described in the thread I posted earlier. They were using the same NAND only the package is differtent.

Hi Gaurav,

Can you attach the flash datasheet which you are using and also let us know the bootmode pin settings from bootmode 0 to 9.

The only other upgrade was the DDR3 that was upgraded to 8Gb too. That part is MT41K512M16VRP-107 IT:P.

AM3352: uncorrectable ECC errors
