AM389x PCIe communication driver to communicate with FPGA

In My system one FPGA is connected on AM389x PCIe port.

I need to read bulk data from FPGA on AM389x.

To do that what are the drivers that I need to implement.

I found following link related to PCIe EP, RC drivers and application :

However I am not able to understand what drivers are needed for my application.

Please let me know which drivers I can readily use and which I need to implement.

Hello,

Can you please provide more details about your hardware setup. What would be your Root Complex and your End Point? Are these custom boards? Where the FPGA is populated/connected? Thank you.

Dear Vladimir,

We will make a custom board which will have an FPGA and AM389x processor interfaced via PCIe port.

FPGA captures video data, processes it and sends to AM389x. AM389x needs to capture the data from FPGA at say 30fps.

This is the need of the application.

We can decide which will act as RC and EP. Please suggest.

Hi Vladimir,

Please guide me in above explained my application, should I configure AM389x as RC (and FPGA as EP) or AM389x as EP (and FPGA as RC) ?

Hello Jignesh,

My personal opinion is that probably would be better the FPGA to be the EP; potentially simpler implementation, less required FPGA resources, etc. Keep in mind I am not familiar with the FPGAs. You should check are there already available implementations. About the Sitara side, I guess that you could stick to the RC guide (http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/TI81XX_PCI_Express_Root_Complex_Driver_User_Guide). There could be more important concerns that I am not aware of.
