Can JMB393 be used with DM8168?

JMB393 is a SATA multiplier with RAID function.

And DM8168 can only be linked with SATA multiplier with CBS(command based switching) mode.

And accroding to the below link,TI FAE MarkPyne said that DM8168 can be connected to JMB393 without h/w compatibility problem.

However,I read the JMB393,there is no CBS mode description in the SPEC.

Could anyone give me suggestions?

Hello,

Yes, JMB393 can be used with DM8168 SATA controller. Make sure you are using the latest EZSDK with PSP 04.04.00.01

But out soft is based on RDK 3.0, could the sata part code inside RDK works with JMB393?

Or If We want to connect DM8168 and JMB393,we have to use sata code inside EZSDK 04.04.00.01?

I found several E2E threads, indicating that JMB393 can be used from 04.00.00.10 Linux PSP release onwards. The Linux PSP release inside the latest EZSDK 5.05 is 04.04.00.01, so this should be fine.

I have no access to RDK, so I can not comment. Can you tell what is the Linux PSP version in your RDK? If it is 04.00.00.10 or newer version, then it should be fine.

Otherwise you should contact your local field support for RDK related inquiries.
