DVRRDK 4.1 B-frame support

Currently we are testing DVRRDK 4.01.00.02 on DM8168,

It is a suprise that encoder supports B frames in this version.

So we found that B-frame encoding is always enabled if intraFrame Interval is > 1.

Is it not possible to disable B frame support in general and set independent intraFrameIntervals ?

Hello,

intraFrameInterval - Interval between two consecutive intra frames, 0 => Only first frame to be intra coded, 1 =>All intra frames, N => One intra frame andN-1 inter frames, where N > 1

interFrameInterval =1 - Only P frames. >1 - Number of B frames between two I/P frames.

Per the h264 user guide it seems that when interFrameIntervak is >1, then you have B frames not a intraFrameInterval.

So is seems to be not possible to disable B-frames in DVRRDK4.1. when we want to use common GOP rates ?

Example: we want to set a intraFrameInterval of 25 and we want to avoid B-frames.

Sorry did not see the new parameter interFrameInterval, I used intaFrameInterval.

Hi Holger,

Did you manage setting only B-frames with dvrrdk when setting interFrameInterval=1 ?
I ask becuase I also want to disable them (for the encoding streamer).

Hi Ran,

setting interFrameInterval=1 disables B frames, you will only get P and I frames in this case.
