Where can I download cdb2tcf.exe from the TI website? I have CCS5 and would like to use it to convert a CCS v3.1 project to CCS5.

In short, it should be located in your bios 5.4x.xx.xx release under:

packages/ti/bios/config/update

Thanks, I found it in the location you mentioned. and I referred to SPRU007 to use it. However, when I run the program from the command prompt (...\config\update>cdb2tcf BCMS.cdb) I get the following error:
"cdb2tcf executed outside of a BIOS installation and the environment variable BIOS_INSTALL_DIR is not set"

I have CCS 5 installed and working. How can I fix these errors?

Robert,
cdb2tcf needs a DSP/BIOS installation to convert a CDB file. If cdb2tcf runs from a directory within a DSP/BIOS installation, it will just use that installation. But, if cdb2tcf is in a directory outside of a DSP/BIOS installation then a variable BIOS_INSTALL_DIR must be set and it must point to a DSP/BIOS installation.
In my CCS 5 installation, DSP/BIOS is installed under C:/ti/bios_5_42_01_09, so I would open a command window and set BIOS_INSTALL_DIR:
set BIOS_INSTALL_DIR=C:/ti/bios_5_42_01_09
and then run cdb2tcf in that same command window.
Let me know if that works, and post the output of the command in case you have further problems.

Try setting the 'BIOS_INSTALL_DIR' environment variable to where you installed BIOS.

Thanks. I set the environment variable: BIOS_INSTALL_DIR=C:/ti/bios_5_41_13_42 and now it will start to execute. However, it stops working with the message "cdb2tcf.exe has stopped working" and an option to close the program. It produces a tcf file that seems incomplete.

The output of the command is:

Can you zip up your cdb and post it here? I can try it on my end.

Also, include the generated .tcf file....would like to see what it looks like.

So, it looks like the cdb2tcf tool does not handle your cdb file correctly. I do not know why that is the case.

What I was able to do is use the cdb2tcf tool to partially generate the file and then hand edited the cdb file to get the rest of the tcf changes required. I think I've made a correct tcf file out of your cdb file. I've attached it below:
