Hi there,

I've met a problem about DSP (TMS320C6742) I2S circuit connection. My application is to transmit I2S data & clock from McASP TX through the cable to audio CODEC which is on another daughter board . I found that the clock signal on pin OSCIN would be abnormal (waveform is distortion, not a perfect sin wave), and all of the signal related to DSP input/output port have noise on it. Once I set the McASP master clock from output to input mode, or cut off the I2S connection between DSP and daughter board, it will become normal !

I wonder if there is anyone meet this situation before?

Welcome to the TI E2E forum. I hope you will find many good answers here and in the TI.com documents and in the TI Wiki Pages (for processor issues). Be sure to search those for helpful information and to browse for the questions others may have asked on similar topics (e2e.ti.com).

To my knowledge, I never heard this kind of issue from any of the customer.

It seems like noise coupling to the DSP board though I2S cable. I would suggest you to review your board design and improve for noise immunity.

If possible please share the waveform of the OSCIN clock and few other signals when you connect the I2S cable to the daughter card.
