Hi Juan,

No, there is no such expansion possibility on the AM437X GP EVM.

My supervisor informed me that the chip itself supports more than 1 port. Are there any other alternatives?

Your supervisor is right, there are 2 Ethernet ports on the processor itself, however only 1 in routed out on the GP EVM board. The pins that the second one uses are taken for other functionalities. I'm afraid there are no AM437x EVM boards at the moment with both Ethernet ports available. The new TMDXSK437X will have 2 Ethernet ports, but it will be available later this year. The PRU on the board has the ability to have another Ethernet as well, is there any way to access that?

The PRU is used for Industrial Ethernet protocols. Two PRU Ethernet ports are available on the AM437X IDK. However this board is not designed to run Linux, and vice versa - the Linux SDK does not support it. The GP EVM does not have the PRU Ethernet ports routed out.
