Dear Sir,

I built u-boot image for custom boards. I can erase and load the u-boot image by CCS v6.0. Once loaded, i am getting message as Application successfully flashed

NAND boot preparation was successful.

After that, disconnect CCS and turn off the board. Again turn on the board and connect the serial port (UART 0) to PC. nothing is shown on the PC. Can you mail me what could be the problem?

Dear Pavel,

we dont have SD boot possibility in our Custom boards, how can i generate a min size u-boot so that we run without DDR interface.

Balaji,

You can try with NOR/XIP boot.

U-Boot initially runs out of OCMC1 and then relocates to DDR. OCMC0 is used by ROM code and by U-Boot in case of NOR boot.

OCMC0 - 0x40300000 to 0x4033FFFF
OCMC1 - 0x40400000 to 0x4043FFFF

If U-Boot has crashed, is memory setup the problem? To check this you can build a U-Boot image which runs out of internal memory by making use of "ti8168_evm_min_ocmc" as the target name in the configure step of U-Boot build. The binary generated can be loaded over JTAG after enabling just the OCMC clocks from the GEL. This image runs out of internal memory and gives a prompt which is really handy for running an mtest and checking memory stability.

Dear Pavel,

At last, we made DDR3 and u-boot code is working and we are getting messages on UART.
Now, i am checking DHCP on UART but it is showing as "Trying DaVinci EMAC" after type dhcp.

Custom Board Display as follows:
U-Boot code: 80700000 -> 807272D8 BSS: -> 8072F418
TI8168-GP rev 2.1

ARM clk: 987MHz
DDR clk: 796MHz

I2C: ready
RAM Configuration:

This is different issue, related to the EMAC PHY. You can open new clean e2e thread regarding this issue.
