Hi,

I have one question regarding POH of AM5728.

According to Table 5-3 of AM5728DM'(SPRS953), it is written as the below.

POH =100K when OPP_NOM/OD

POH =65K when OPP_HIGH

It shows Higher frequency is shorter life. Why is it so? Please give me its mechanism(reason). I must explain it to my customer.

Hi Michi,

Operating at higher frequency requires increasing voltage, and generally increases junction temperature, which accelerates transistor aging. The aging process includes effects known as hot-carrier injection, bias temperature instability, oxide breakdown, and electromigration. There are many good articles and papers on these effects if you wish to learn more.
