AM437x IDK boot from SD Card

The AM437x IDK supports booting Linux.

When I install the prebuilt MLO and u-boot.img on my SD Card using the included create-sdcard.sh it does't boot (nothing on console).

I also haven't been able to build a working MLO/u-boot.img from the u-boot sources included in the SDK.

Any suggestions? Anyone have a working MLO/u-boot.img for the AM437x IDK?

Hi Andy,

If there is no output on the console when using prebuilt images you should to be sure that using the right tty and console settings 115200 bps 8N1.

Also verify all DIP switches are set in ON position as shown in AM437x Evaluation Module Quick Start Guide section Default setup (OS boot from microSD card) fig 1 at:

I'm using the IDK, not the EVM. My console settings and dip switches are correct because the StarterWare boot loader (which was pre-installed on the included SD card) boots OK.

Looks like I had a bad board. I replaced it and now MLO/u-boot.img boot just fine.
