Hi All,

We are using tda2ex evm with vision sdk 2.12.

We are running Linux(A15) + Bios(IPU).

1. We want to capture analog (interlace) video output from video decoder to VIP Port.

This is my usecase

UseCase: chains_vipSingleCam_SgxDisplay

Capture -> VPE_dei -> Display_M4 (IPU1_0)

// Graphics overlay display
GrpxSrc -> Display_Grpx

2. In vision SDK Datasheet

How to capture video decoder interlace video on Linux + bios mode?

3. In linux usecase /hlos/examples/adas/src/usecases/

what is SgxFrmcpy (A15) when we need to use?

Current Vision SDK does not support analog video capture. The only way this can be achieved is by doing DEI in Linux. Linux driver support DEI using Linux VPE driver. You can do capture from Linux, perform the DEI and then share these buffers to Vision SDK Make sure that the buffers are allocated from a carved out area and mapped into IPU memory space. Hi,

Current Vision SDK does not support analog video capture.

In BIOS only mode TVP5158(analog video) capture done and validated in vision SDK 2.12 as Shiju Sivasankaran told in another thread.

As you know TVP5158 output interlace so they will use DEI to convert progressive.

We want to achieve similar on Linux (usecase) + bios(VIP VPE DSS on IPU2(BIOS) side) mode.

Can you please elaborate your usecase (mentioned above) with the core information.

Is this like capture(IPU) -> VPE-DEI(A15) -> SgxFrmCpy(A15) -> Display(M4)

Above is possible. You have to write a VPE link on the A15 (which uses the V4L2 VPE driver for DEI)

We are running Linux(A15) + Bios(IPU). we want do capture tvp5158 as capture (IPU) -> VPE_DEI(IPU) ->Diplay(M4).

This TVP5158 video decoder is not supported on A15 linux in VSDK linux,
why can't you have the capture running on IPU (Bios)?
please refer the usecase \vision_sdk\examples\tda2xx\src\usecases\vip_single_rvc_cam_view_crc from vsdk 2.12, which is the closest one to your requirement.

Hi Shiju,

We have linux running on A15 and, we are going to configure the decoder from A15. capture, display from IPU(BIOS).

so we need Linux(A15) + Bios(IPU) usecase with DEI support

Then you will have to port these TVP drivers on Linux, TI do not have any plans to do this on A15 linux.
